Up for sale is this 1970 Oldsmobile 442. It's a numbers matching 455, 4 speed car with plenty of goodies. It features a very nice gold with black stripes exterior and a black interior. It has the ram air hood (W25 option), air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, AM/FM stereo with the 8-track player, a tic-toc tach, rear defroster, rear spoiler, black vinyl top, 3.42 rear end, and is in excellent condition. The restoration was done back in 2000 and the car still looks great. The engine was professionally rebuilt by Dave Himes Automazing in 2004. A new clutch was installed in 2007. Everything is as original as possible on the car. I did replace the stock mufflers with Turbo Flow mufflers.
This is not a trailer queen. It is driven during nice weather and to local shows. The carpet was replaced before I bought it and is in near new condition but it doesn't fit perfectly. I did buy new carpet for it but it's still in the box. The right rear window hand crank is stripped and I bought two new ones but they have the black plastic hand piece which doesn't match the clear ones currently on the car so I never replaced the hand crank. All of the plumbing for the A/C is in tact but when I pulled the engine I kinked and ruptured one of the small lines and have not replaced it. I also have "442" fender covers and a brand new heavy rubber trunk mat.
It took just over two months of searching (and roadtrips) before I bought this beauty. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning and driving it but priorities have changed and it's time to let someone else enjoy it. The previous owner provided me with a full album of pictures from the restoration. The car has always been garaged and spends it's winters covered and in a heated garage. Even in the warmer months, I generally keep it covered. I put new Radial T/A's on it (not pictured) and they don't even have 200 miles on them.
You can reach me via email at rich@skyridgedesign.com. The car is located in Fishers, IN. Please, serious inquiries only. Asking price is $47,500.
